My name is Jesse Patton and I am excited to be joining CSC as the new men’s minister. I grew up in Mt. Sterling IL and graduated from Brown County High School, so it will be great to be back in west-central Illinois! I am also a graduate of Lincoln Christian University (BA General Ministry) and just recently finished a Master’s degree at Bethel Seminary-St. Paul MN (MA in Christian Thought).
My wife Brandi will be teaching math at Macomb Junior High. We have been married for ten years and have three fantastic kids, Isaiah (5), Andrew (2), and Emily (5 months). We have spent the last 6 ½ years in Normal IL, where I have served as the Children’s & Youth Pastor at Jacob’s Well Community Church.
I am looking forward to connecting with students and the community and seeing the Good News of Jesus being lived out at WIU and in Macomb. I would love to hear from alumni as well, so please feel free to reach out to chat. Tell me all about your experience at CSC and what makes this such a rich ministry.
Just to give you all a bit more information about myself, I love watching sports (especially baseball- Go Cardinals!), traveling, and playing Nintendo Switch with our 5-year-old. I try to read 50 books each year (look me up on Goodreads!), and some of my favorite authors are Michael Crichton, A.J. Jacobs, Donald Miller, and Eugene Peterson. I really enjoy watching movies (I still subscribe to DVD Netflix, who does that any more?) and especially love seeing movies in the theater. I can’t wait to be able to enjoy a flick at the Rialto when they open up again. I also really enjoy trivia and was part of a team, Hashtag Blessed, that played weekly in Normal.
We are all excited to be in Macomb and closer to our extended family in Quincy and Mt. Sterling! We have heard so many encouraging things about CSC and can’t wait to experience what God has in store for us together. Please pray for our family as we adjust to our new normal away from Normal. Looking forward to getting to know you all! Please send me a text or email, give me a call, drop by the office, take me to your favorite spot for wings or pizza, and let’s get to know each other!
