Update for our friends and alumni:

First of all, thank you for your continued support of CSC!! God is good, and He is continually working through this ministry! I wanted to quickly inform you of some things we’ve been doing in our ministry as we’ve been making modifications because of the COVID19 and now the shelter in place.

We’ve had to say goodbye to several students this past week as they moved out of their dorms/apartments for the remainder of the semester. Avery and I have been sad to say goodbye as we may not see several of these students in person until August. We have been encouraging them, praying for them, and calling/connecting with them to see how they are doing with these changes.

There have been some great things still happening amidst these changes! We just finished a 24 hour prayer vigil that started last night at 6pm until today at 6pm. 34 students signed up to fill 30 min or 1 hour time slots where they dedicated their time to prayer! They were asked to pray for what was on their heart, this COVID 19 pandemic, shelter in place, people’s connection together during this time, the Church to continue the mission, Church persecution, specific prayer requests and more! It was truly amazing to see so many students involved and excited to spend time with Jesus!

Last night, several students got together that were still around CSC for a spontaneous worship and prayer night. They did it live on Facebook so others could join in and comment. Several others commented with prayers, scripture, and encouragement! It was amazing to see students organize this worship night to encourage each other during this time!

If you have not viewed Avery and my update video from Wednesday, please do. This video is also posted at the top of this page. We encouraged our students to continue loving God and loving others during this time of social distancing. We also informed them of how we wish to stay connected with them and ways we will modify our ministry where we can still provide messages, devotions, and more! We plan to be virtually connected a lot over these next few months, connecting with our students individually and in groups. Our student leaders have been AMAZING with leading in ideas and decisions to continue staying connected and ministering. They will also be connecting with each other, leading virtual small groups, giving video devotions each week, and more.

Again, Avery and I greatly appreciate your continued support of CSC! Please pray for our ministry and students during this time of separation. We will need prayers for continued spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional health during these times. We would also love to pray for you! Please let us know how we can pray for you!

God is good. He is in control. He is Lord. He is King. He has not changed. We trust in His guidance and leadership during this time as He guides us in how to continue being the Church and caring for those around us during these circumstances. We believe He is giving us a time of rest, a time to intentionally press into Him more, and a time to listen.

I will leave you all with a scripture passage that always encourages me when I think of the Church and all of you:

“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”
